Kolkata, Jan 21 (PTI) Giving quality, safety and precision results to eye patients, a LASIK (Laser-assisted in situ Keratomileusis) surgery machine with the world’s highest frequency laser delivery was introduced at a city hospital today. Opening a new vista in eye care, Wavelight Allegretto Excimer Laser 500 Hz LASIK machine of Alcon, stated to be world’s highest frequency laser delivery and proven German technology, was inaugurated at the city’s premier Priyamvada Birla Aravind Eye Hospital.
Doctors said that LASIK, known as a cosmetic surgery, has gradually evolved on the basis of sound technology, enhancing safety of the eye and providing precision result, thereby opening a new area of expertise in today’s opthalmic practice.
